At Ibcos, we get to see firsthand how dealers and distributors operate in fast-paced, complex environments. Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting Agrifac UK in Ely, a company that isn’t just keeping up with the agricultural industry but actively shaping its future.
Agrifac is passionate about one thing: perfecting self-propelled agricultural sprayers. With over 85 years of experience, they are driving precision, efficiency and sustainability to different levels. Their UK operation has been proudly supporting British growers since 2012, blending local expertise with the engineering might of their Dutch headquarters.
To keep pace with a growing business and evolving customer needs, in January 2026 Agrifac UK moved to a purpose-built facility in Ely. The site provides more space, greater capacity and the perfect environment for innovation and customer service. It even includes a dedicated training facility, bringing people from across the industry together to learn, train and share knowledge.
Nigel Hamer, Finance Controller, joined just over a year ago, bringing extensive finance experience to a new industry.
“I came in completely fresh. I didn’t know anything about the agricultural business or this company until I got involved.”
His role touches almost every part of the business, from cash flow and invoicing to payments and management accounts. It’s a position that requires both sharp financial skills and a knack for understanding how the business ticks. With Agrifac UK’s seasonal rhythms, August is harvest peak, followed by a taper into servicing and planning. Nigel quickly learned that finance in agriculture is not just about numbers, it is about timing.
Agrifac UK is not just a standalone operation. It is part of a global family with colleagues in Holland, Australia, and beyond. Monthly meetings, shared best practices and collaborative problem-solving ensure that the UK team benefits from insights that might otherwise take years to acquire.
“Having this global perspective is invaluable. It is not just about processes; it is about understanding what is possible and how we can bring that knowledge to British farmers.”
Ensuring everyone adheres to shared standards across multiple regions is no small feat, but it is one Agrifac tackles with consistency.
Agrifac UK’s reputation as a premium, technology-led provider is not just marketing, it is real. Precision spraying, automated crop detection and environmentally sustainable practices all form part of a portfolio designed to reduce input costs and increase efficiency. It is cutting-edge technology meeting real-world farming challenges
Ibcos Gold plays a central role at Agrifac UK, helping the team manage everything from orders and service bookings to finance. We spoke with Nigel to understand how the system supports day-to-day operations and where enhancements could make a difference.
He highlighted opportunities to make processes more seamless, particularly around order confirmations, and shared how his team is embracing tools like DocStore. By connecting systems and standardising workflows, these improvements allow staff to work more efficiently and focus on higher-value tasks.
This is why we engage closely with customers, ensuring the Gold Roadmap reflects real-world needs. One of the solutions in development is Gold Analytics, which transforms manual reporting into instant insight. Dynamic dashboards update automatically, providing a clear view of key metrics, depot performance and growth opportunities, saving time and supporting confident, data-driven decisions.
Through this ongoing collaboration, we aim to make Gold even more valuable to the team, helping them work smarter, innovate and deliver exceptional service to customers.
Agrifac UK’s story is one of growth, learning and innovation. With a new home in Ely, a global network of colleagues, cutting-edge technology and Gold at the core of operations, the team is perfectly positioned to continue transforming farming across the UK.
