HAMBLYS is the largest agricultural machinery supplier in the South West. Established in 1892, it remains a successful family-owned business dedicated to providing high-quality new and used agricultural machinery and equipment.
For more than 35 years, Julie Snook has been at the heart of HAMBLYS. As Accounts and Administration Manager, she has witnessed the dealership’s remarkable journey from its traditional roots to becoming a forward-thinking business that thrives on innovation and technology.
In this interview, Julie takes us behind the scenes of this transformation. She shares how HAMBLYS embraced change, digitised processes, and prepared for the future with Gold. From streamlining operations with DocStore to gearing up for Cloud adoption, Julie’s insights reveal how the right tools can drive efficiency and lasting impact.
HAMBLYS doesn’t stand still, and Julie knows it better than anyone.
“I said to the Managing Director, once can we have a year of no changes? And it’s never going to happen,” she laughs.
That mindset of constant evolution is what keeps HAMBLYS ahead of the curve.
“We’re always looking at how we can benefit the company. We’re always moving and a lot of that is through Gold. We know things are coming out, so we move forward with that.”
When asked which modules she’d recommend to other dealerships, Julie doesn’t hesitate:
“Definitely DocStore. You can automatically send all purchase invoices straight into the relevant departments. That has saved a lot of time.”
She also highlights the power of Warranties integration:
“With Warranties, there’s an integration so that when you’re uploading the warranties on the platform, it uploads all the parts. If you had a big job with lots of parts, you haven’t got to manually type every part number in. So there are definitely benefits – it makes life easier because you’re not duplicating anything.”
HAMBLYS’ story is more than just a tale of technology, it’s about a team committed to progress. Their willingness to adopt new tools and embrace innovation has been key to their operational efficiency and long-term competitiveness.
Julie’s passion for improvement reflects HAMBLYS’ forward-thinking approach: a dealership that works smarter, stays ahead, and delivers lasting value across its business.
