Here’s What You Need to Know

We’d like to notify you that we’re actively investigating the potential impact of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on your usage of Ibcos Gold – to ensure that you can comply with this upcoming legislation while continuing to use Gold for managing and storing your data.

As soon as we’re done, we’ll make any changes (if required) and provide you with a statement on the use of data within Gold to assist you.

Quick Facts About the GDPR

The GDPR is an EU-wide initiative that will come into effect in the UK on May 25 of 2018. Its main objectives will be to regulate when and how a business can store and use certain types of data as well as unify data regulation within the EU.

The regulation will be similar to the current Data Protection Act in the UK, but when in force, will be the authority. As a result, all businesses in the UK will need to ensure that they are compliant with the GDPR or face fines and other penalties.

Why Would the GDPR Impact Gold?

A significant chunk of the GDPR relates to the storage and use of personal data. Since Ibcos Gold contains your customer and supplier information, we may need to make a few alterations to ensure you can adjust your processes and procedures to be compliant with this regulation. We’re still investigating what those changes should be or if they are needed at all.

Need More Details?

We will publish our findings shortly, but in the meantime, look for further information on the GDPR at the Information Commissioner’s Office.
