Horticultural Wholegoods - Serial Number PartsThe Serial Number Parts module is normally used for domestic horticultural Wholegoods (mowers, lawn tractors, chainsaws, brush cutters etc). The process for the purchase and sale of these items is within the Parts module with the addition of a batch or serial number to record an audit trail for each individual item. It is also possible to carry out servicing, repairs or warranty claims on these items; providing full service history for each individual item. Each batch or each serial number can hold unique individual cost prices; giving the ability to distinguish between the price of pre-season purchases and those bought on in-season terms. The point of sale routine displays the individual items in stock with full tracking details (cost, order number, serial number, etc.). When a product is sold the individual item is selected from a list of those available. The serial number can be stored either when the stock arrives or at the point of sale. It can also be used for commercial groundcare items, though these more complex transactions are often better served by the full Wholegoods module. The system has the ability to raise self billing invoices for part exchanging used equipment; this routine correctly handles the VAT for the purchase of the used stock. The Enquiry program, on sold items, offers searches by model, partial/full serial number and customer; it then displays the full service history with a drill down to the detailed job information with full costs. This is very useful when discussing the service record with the owner or supplier. A complete history of stock receipts is also held for audit purposes. The history of sold items is fully integrated with the CRM module for follow up marketing, service reminders etc. The Serial Number Parts module is ideal for Lawn and Garden, Horticultural and Groundcare Dealers – a fast simple method to track sales of serial numbered items and record the service history. The system also has the ability to raise invoices with split payments (up to 4); this is most commonly used by Lawn and Garden Machinery Distributors for “Winter Stock” invoices
